I'm intending to install a 24 camera strong system on our farm. I recently installed 8 x Ubiquity unifi AC mesh units, so we now have fairly good coverage all over the area.

Now we need to install a camera & DVR system, we need a total of 24 cameras. I have been looking at this model: DS-2CD2041G1-IDW1 (4 MP IR Fixed Network Bullet Camera) and I'm wondering if its possible to have a large number of cameras all linked up to the DVR or DVR's through my mesh network. Hi all. Hopefully a quick one if you’ll bear with me; I previously had a 4 channel Hikvision NVR (DS-7604NI-K1-4P(B)) and upgraded it to the 8 channel equivalent (DS-7608NI-K2-8P) as it’s predecessor was struggling to cope with the 4nr cameras running at 4K and kept randomly rebooting multiple times per day.

The new NVR has been setup with identical settings as the previous and everything is working as expected with the exception of the Hik-Connect app (note: all firmware is up to date).

Hi have new DS-7604NI-K1/4P(B) after couple months of trying everything under sun it still keeps rebooting at random. Its only running three cameras on POE 1 x ds-2cd2785fwd-izs and 2 x ds=2cd2385fwd-i 2.8mm. the hdd is new Seagate 4tb surveillance and all the cabling in new. Cameras are all up to date and nvr has been taken of battery backup and plugged in to mains. NightVision issues

Hello guys,
I recently bought a NVR and exterior IP camera IP4 from HikVision. When the night-vision kick-in one of the camera that is 10 cm close to a white wall capture only the white wall and nothing else, everything else is black around, I think because the wall is so bright. I mention that the camera is installed parallel with one wall and the position cannot be changed. Is there any workaround for this particular problem?

Updated 26th November to clarify setting and use of encryption key / verification code.

Seen as a pop-up at the bottom right screen corner in your browser when trying to access a video stream from a HikVision camera to Live View it/them on your HikVision NVR.

There is another version of the message - "The stream is encrypted. Please go to the Local Configuration interface to set the Encryption Key and restart live view".

I have one of the above cameras which generally works very well. However, most days I get one or more emails generated by the camera with no attached files and the message:

"This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program.

multipart/mixed"

There is no video recorded at the time the message is sent.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix/ setting I'm missing. This new camera...

Zero channel permission

Hello,

I have a DS-7732NI-I4 / 24P.

Is zero channel only available to admin? It won't work for any other users I setup.

I want to setup a user so that they can basically only watch that channel because I can control the bandwidth via the zero channel encoder settings.

Hikvision have just released new firmware for their -K (B) NVRs V3.4.100:

NB
This firmware is only for recent 7604 -K NVRs with a (B) suffix in their part code.

Hello,

I have a DS-7732NI-I4 / 24P

The NVR is on a cellular data plan (for remote viewing). I was hoping I would be able to limit the users' to only view sub channels with lower bitrates. This in turn would make the cellular data plan (10 GB per month, but would be willing to spend up to 20 GB) last much, much longer.

If the user goes into single screen mode then they get the main channel stream (currently set to 1080p). The bandwidth usage is about 4 Mbit/s. That's recording...

About eight months ago I installed a Hikvision I-series NVR with eight 2355/2385 cams. I've always had three cams that set alarms on either intrusion or line crossing at both dawn and dusk each day. Those three cams are oriented the same direction, west, which is different than the remaining 5 cams. I've done all the tweaking I can think of to eliminate the false alerts to no avail. The false alerts have followed the changing times of dawn and dusk throughout the year. Reviewing recordings...

IP cameras on Hikvision Turbo HD 1.0 Hybrid DVR - should they show up with analog cameras in app?

Hi,

Does anyone have a Hikvision DS-71xx DS-72xx or DS-73xx hybrid DVR that you use with both analog and IP cameras?

We're trying to adopt IP cameras with our DS-7332HGHI - got our first one up and running, seems to be able to view from the DVR and record just like the analog cameras.

However, when trying to view the IP camera from the IVMS-4500 app, it doesn't show up with all the analog cameras - it's like it's not even there.

Does anyone have any idea why? I'm trying to figure out...

NVR Virtual Host - Keeps turning off

Hi, I have a DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P(B) on firmware version V3.4.100 build 180310 which is the latest listed for the device.

I have my cameras wired directly to the NVR for POE to power them, I have enabled virtual host to enable me to change configuration on the cameras or just view them directly.

All works well and as it should but every few weeks virtual host unticks itself within the NVR so I cant then connect to the cameras, so I login to the NVR and tick it again and save the config.

Platform access missing from Network options.

Hi there,

I am trying to connect my DS-7716NI-SP to the internet and under network, the Platform access option is missing.

The firmware that I am using is V3.4.3 build 160811.

I live in the UK.

Any advise would be gratefully appreciated.

Zoom Issue

I was replacing some key caps on my keyboard yesterday and I must have inadvertently messed up a setting. Apparently I had one of the 4 cameras selected in my DS-2CD6D54FWD-IZHS while I was doing this and it zoomed out of its normal FOV but when I went to zoom it back the camera will now either zoom all the way in or all the way out, no stopping in between. I use IVMS-4200 and I tested all my other cameras and they incrementally zoom normally.

Any suggestions much appreciated

We recently installed 10 IP cameras (DS-2CD2346G1-I) connected to an NVR (DS-7616NI-K2/16P). We have 4 remote viewing screens across the store on multiple levels and we've used a Dell Optiplex (micro form factor) PC, Intel i5 CPU, running Windows 10 with 8GB of RAM. We've found that some units are struggling with running the Hikvision iVMS-4200 Lite to view the remote cameras on the displays (whether we connect to the camera directly or via the NVR).
