What is the difference between 2 cameras?

I just picked up a new (used) camera...
XC2CD2042WD-1

Looks like a 2CD2042WD-1

How does a XC2CD2042WD-1 differ from a 2CD2042WD-1. ???

I was able to upgrade firmware to latest/Last 2CD2042WD-1 firmware and it works ok.

Nosy as to what model differences are.

Factory reset after reboot

I have this camera hikvision ds-2df7286-a and a problem: when the cam will reboot it will revert to factory settings. I have checked the voltage and is good, I also replaced the cell battery on the electronic board that keeps the settings but with no change. Any fix for this issue?

Recently we've had a few customers who have experienced some issues with the PoE connectors on the pigtail of their Hikvision device that has caused it to stop receiving power. This can be as a result of a lot of things - faulty weatherproofing leading to corrosion within the connector, damaging it or just plain bad luck.

Hikvision themselves unfortunately do not offer replacement PoE connectors so...

Hello, I am setting up a Hikvision DS-2DE4225IW-DE PTZ IP camera, which I intend to use on a remote building site.

One of the objectives is to record time lapse images.

I have set up image capture to the SD card and also to FTP.

The problem I have is that the camera stops recording (to both sd card and ftp) after a while. For example this morning all was fine until 9:30ish then no further images stored on sd or sent to ftp after then. I have set the recording period from 6am to 6pm and...

Just wondering if anyone is still using iVMS-4200 software for the Mac and it is working under OS 10.15 (Catalina). Mine isn't. I have v.2.0.0.10 and that seems to be the latest. Mine crashes all the time.

Any ideas, Phil and others?

Hi,

I have the Hikvision DB-120A-IW 1080p doorbell camera setup correctly to my Hikvision DVR and the Hikvision Hik-Connect App on my iphone.

For a long time everything worked fine, including the motion detection and getting a screenshot notification on the app every time somebody came to the front door.

But all of a sudden, the notifications have stopped working. Although everything else still seemed fine, such as getting a 24/7 live connection to my DVR and being able to get a live feed...

Hi guys,

your help would be greatly appreciated if at all possible. Im trying to come away from using PCNVR as its years outdated and doesnt support smart events.

For the past few weeks I have really struggled getting all the components of IVMS 4200 to work together, reliably. Just when I think ive cracked it another issue appears.

HikConnect App tells me that the device is offline

Hey guys,

I've been having an unexplained problem for a few days now. My device is displayed as offline in the HikConnect app.

The router is online, the web interface is accessible via the IP of the device and in the configurations the connection to HikConnect is shown as online.

If I want to connect the device to the app it says that the device is connected to the router but cannot connect to the internet. But the device can be reached via the external IP...

Foggy day view - Hikvision DS-2085 DS-2CD2085FWD-I

I'm running several DS-2CD2085FWD-I cameras (FW V5.5.83 build 190221) in a new building for some days. I'm observing foogy day view problems and don't know at the moment what this caused.

Please see attached pictures - you can also see that the problem gets worse even during the afternoon. Kamera 4, Kamera 8.1 and Kamera 5.
I also have a DS-2CD2685FWD-IZS mounted on the same building looking at another direction - here the pictures is clear without foogy problems (Kamera 8)

I got one of Hikvision DS-2CD2442FWD-IW indoors cameras with with PIR sensor as I wanted to see how it's working before getting more and external cameras.

I put the camera in the window overlooking a (busy) driveway as I wanted to test motion detection (without PIR and at daylight). However, I just can't configure the camera to detect and record anything. I appreciate this is an indoors camera but surely it should detect motion on an image even if the motion is on the other side of the...

I've just been trying it out and it seems to contain plenty of bugs while also ignoring the Mac GUI.

It won't let me resize windows manually by dragging a corner. On my 5K (5120 x 2880) monitor (27in iMac running High Sierra), I am forced to choose an app window of either 1680 x 1050 or full screen with nothing in between. Unless I'm missing something.

I'm also peering myopically at tiny interactive buttons which all look the same (even when I change my screen resolution to 2560 x 1440)...

Any Mac users happy with iVMS-4200 v2.0.0.10?

Nvr wont power certain ip cams

So... upgraded from a 5mpPOC set up to 5 ds-2cd2385G1’s, I have a previous G1 and a auto tracking PTZ that were running via POE switch,

Today comes swapped everything over and the NVR wont even power the cameras that have been previously set up via the switch,

I have restored these and they will only work via the switch but will not connect to the NVR,

Has anyone had the same issues? If so what was the fix?

Just to add SADP keeps saying timed out

I'm making this plea again, because every day we continue to get calls and enquiries about "odd" issues, features "not working", cameras "gone faulty", cameras that have "gone offline", no longer being able to see video in my App, on my Mac, in IVMS-4200, in my browser, etc.
95% of those callers own HikVision systems.
50% of those callers are what you might term disbelieving when told they need to update their firmware.
Especially if it's a young female member of my team that gives...

Bricked Hikvision Doorbell

Hello

Not sure if anyone can help, ive read some of the bricked guides but not sure they apply to this doorbell model. I tried TFTP with no luck.

I tried to perform a Firmware update to the device, however after about 25 minutes after clicking to apply the camera gave no response.

Ive tried a factory reset of the device by holding the button on the side for 15 seconds but nothing at all happens.

Is there any way to get this working again or does it belong in the bin?

I have a 4 channel NVR, that has suddenly stopped receiving video to IVMS4200. Having looked further i see that the NVR is working if i attach a monitor direct, but appears the ethernet port going in stays red, can't ping the IP address either. Tried another cable but same. Anything else to try or is it likely the ethernet port has died on the NVR?

What would be the latest replacement i could buy for this NVR, need 4 channel POE similar spec as above really?

hi all,
i am using NVR DS-7616NI-k2 for past two years with 4 camera. Recently added 6 camera because of which the live video lags and in the output video its skips playing few seconds, earlier its was not the problem. In the live video all camera plays only in sub-stream marked 2 . please help me anything which i could do to make the live video smoother and downloaded video without skips seconds of video.
