Motion settings help required

I currently have the DS-2CD2142FWD-I Dome camera and the online help wording is not the same as the cameras menu wording. For example the online help says 'Slide the cursor to adjust the sensitivity and proportion of object on the area for the selected area' however, the online camera configuration menu says 'Sensitivity and Percentage'? What exactly is proportion of object? Does this mean that if the camera detects the motion of a moving object, it will only record if it sees a certain...

Here is the system info from my HikVision NVR

I forgot the admin password. I googled it and found on a forum to restore all parameters to default setting to fix the issue.

I have 3 Hikvision DS-2CD2x42FWD cameras and all are offline. They were working fine before i restored to default settings.Now they are showing offline (user password error)

So far I have updated the NVR firmware from V-3.4.82 to V-3.4.92...

Can I add an IP Camera to an NVR without a direction connection?

Hi,

Is it possible to add an IP Camera on my current network to an NVR on the same network without it being directly plugged into the NVR? I will be looking at adding an 8CH NVR to my network but it will only ever be able to have six cameras directly attached to it. The other cameras are on another building on the same network. I have three cameras on the other building. Any help appreciated to help me make a decision.

Hi folks

I'm new on here, I have been installing hikvision for about 2 years now without too many problems but on my most recent install. it was a system I done about 6 months ago.(V3.4.62 build 160503) the guy wanted an extra camera installed so I fitted a new IP 2mp bullet yesterday.

firstly I couldn't view it online or over iVMS-4500 (he has a static ip) or on the monitor. I solved this by changing the encoding from h.265 to h.264. however I still cant see the image on live view on...

I have recently experienced the following issue twice with two different Hikvision cameras, one dome and one turret. I added the camera to my Hybrid DVR using the ONVIF protocol and everything worked great however, once I upgraded to the latest firmware I lost my connection? Turns out the latest firmware now has an ONVIF selection and is disabled by default. 5MP Turret set to 6MP

I recently upgrade the firmware in a DS-2CD2355FWD-I 5MP Turret camera with v5.5.3 build 171018 and I have noticed that in the Video/Audio Configuration menu I can now set a higher resolution. The top three being:

2944x1656 = 4.88MP
3072x1728 = 5.31MP
3072x2048 = 6.0 MP

Just wanted to share this information.

anybody know how to change the name of the devices listed under hik connect

i can goto the hik connect website and change them to a friendly name

but using the app all i get is a list of the devices
I'm sure on an older version you could sweepleft and then it allowed editing name

Hello there,

I have finally purchased a CCTV system for my house. Brand of DVR is HIKVISION.

Now, I plan on installing this 8 Chanel DVR on the third floor, and connect it to the Internet for access on my mobile device (all of that still to be done).

I don’t actually know what mobile app to view outside of the home I have to use and if that can be used on the laptop too?

As I have no router in that floor (for Ethernet), I will be adding an extender router, which will allow me to connect...

i am wondering where is the best place/app/tool to set the motion sensing areas. I have the 7608 NVR. I have found the motion sense features in:
-local console NVR
-ivms
-web management page, (using virtual host) of the IP cam.

it seems the area settings are not reflected in all apps, i.e. set the squares in ivms and the local console doesnt show the new layout.
IF i make the changes in local console, that DOES then reflect in all the other apps. But i want to run the NVR headless so put...

Hi,

I have a DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P running V3.4.96 build 170921. I successfully activated Hik Connect platform access and I'm able to connect via iVMS-4500 and Hik Connect App on iOS. However, I do not manage to access to my NVR with iVMS-4200 Mac v.1.02.05.02.

I'm able to login to Hik Connect successfully and the DS-7617NI is also show in my current account. However when I put in my user name and password below I alwasy get the answer

Hello everyone. Great forum you have here, very informative.

I have a question regarding a DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P NVR. When viewing full screen a single channel using the main stream the picture freezes for about a second every 20-30 seconds. Playback of the footage during these freezes does not show any freezing and plays fine. Problem is I need this stutter free as it will get annoying while monitoring. Any ideas?

dreaded condensation

My bullet camera 2CD2032, has chronic moisture on the inside of the lens. Worked fine in previous house with no condensation, was taken down in May this year, wrapped in bubblepack and taped in a cardboard box and stored in my garage until I re-installed it recently. It was previously installed within the eaves of my house and never exposed to wind or rain so I'm stumped. I've left it on thinking it's own electronics might be warm enough to dry the condensation inside but it's still bad.

Please note that ONVIF is disabled by default in this latest V5.50 camera firmware version.
If you need to use ONVIF compatibility, to record your HikVision cameras on the NVR of another manufacturer for instance, then you will need to enable ONVIF first:

Im currently trying to setup a camera which supports ANPR , Firmware is complete no issues but when I follow doc https://forum.use-ip.co.uk/threads/how-to-set-up-hikvision-anpr.723/
and Try and save the Detection Configuration Changes it comes up with:
Third Stream cannot be used after the vehicle detection function is enabled.
