Good morning,

After adding some more cameras to a working Hikvision install we noticed the playback using Apple and Android mobile devices was unreliable. Playback would stutter, stall or display an error.

All the recordings would playback fine on a desktop PC running iVMS4200.

New cameras were 2025, 2055, 2625 - all with the latest firmware.

It was only by accident we discovered that disabling H.265+ on a camera would resolve the problem. With H.265+ disabled the recordings would...

Hi.
I have purchase the HIKVISION turbo ds-7608huhi-f2/n model. I am having trouble with the ip camera.
it is working fine with analogue camera. when i connected the hikvision ip camera ds-2cd2355i,
the video is very slow(people are moving very slowly), missing frames, not smooth at all. I tried all the possible setting changing frame, bit rate, resolution, encoding but no joy. and if i connect Dahua HDBW4431R-ZS, same result plus it give me warning of bitrate mismatch. and when i select...

Hi guys I need your help, I got this cameras in my home

[2.8mm] Hikvision DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS 4MP Built-in Mic Wifi indoor Dome Camera

when SD Card is full, after this my Camera is not Recording any more automatically, so I like to know, how to do Automatic over Recording on SD Card.
What setting I have to do in my Camera.

Because of this reason every week I have to Format my DS Card, then it will start Record again.

Please let me know how to do Automatic Over Recording on SD...

Cameras keep going faulty

I've gt 4 DS-2CDD2T42WD-i5 cameras, 3 of which have now gone faulty.

They seem to just no longer power up. I've tested another camera that i know works on the same ethernet cable and it powers fine.

Any ideas what might be causing this, its a pain to keep getting them replaced under warranty.

Hikvision camera losing its main stream settings

Hi,

I've got a DS-2CD2142FWD-I on my home network, it's the only camera I have.
  • Not using a DVR, camera isn't set to record
  • Gigabit network, using PoE
  • Using Hik-Connect for DDNS and the Hik-Connect app on the iPhone
The main stream seems to randomly switch from 2688*1520 down to 1280*720P and a decent framerate and bitrate down to 10fps, and 512Kpbs.

If I change it to what I want it seems to "save" OK and live view looks great. Then a day or two later I notice that...

hikvision nvr with non hikvision ip cameras

hi all

trying to get my head round this one

one camera is hik g1 series so its range is 192.169.254.** and goes straight into dvr

the other 10 cameras are avis and are going through a poe switch and are set as static ip

range is 192.168.0.51 onwards

when the switch broke i removed it and connected cameras straight to relevant ports on dvr

but now i get no picture at on these avis cameras

any ideas

Why is my time and date pixelated?

I have a Hikvision dome camera which displays some characters in the time and date as pixelated squares as you can see in the image:

It's not always the same characters - sometimes it the minutes, sometimes the hours; it's very intermittent.
It isn't just on the live view, it also comes out on downloaded video too.

We are just now learning of a vulnerability in HikVision wireless cameras where the Wi-Fi has not been used.
The cameras ship with a default wi-fi network connection configured - which uses the SSID davinci.
It is possible for somebody to configure such a network and gain access to the unused/default wi-fi connection to the camera.

If you have such a HikVision wireless camera:
Step 1 - Please update it to the latest available firmware
Step 2 - disable the Wi-Fi / remove the default SSID...

im using the trigger to bring on flood lighting , fine , trouble is when the lights go off the camera detects and re-triggers !!! Vicious loop.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on an issue I am having with the above NVR. I have managed to receive alert and event notifications over email such as motion detect etc. The problem I am having is I am not getting screenshots or attachments of the event. Under configuration > network >advanced settings I have selected attached image with interval 5 sec but I am not getting the attachment, just the notification.

I am accessing NVR over web interface and everything...

HikVision cameras & NVRs can use upnp (universal plug 'n' play) to quickly/easily/automatically configure port mapping/forwarding in your office/home router to facilitate remote access to your HikVision cameras. NB upnp also needs to be enabled in your router (but often is by default).

Hi All,

Wanting to try either Intrusion Detection or Line Crossing on my system to try & minimise the false triggers I get with normal motion detection.
Mostly Moths & Spiders.

Have followed all that I can find, even though the documentation doesn't quite match the firmware; but I just can't get it to detect.

Have drawn a region as well as a minimum size box & played with settings.
Get the impression I'm missing some other setting.

hi guys i purchased a DS-2CD2155FWD-IS camera, i was looking on youtube at all the videos of the cctv before i bought it and it looked impressive, i have mine now set up and to be honest it looks really grainy and poor quality especially on video, to be fair this screenshot doesnt look as bad as when watching the live feed etc, is there a setting somewhere I'm missing to make it look as clear as other peoples?

Hi,
I have my camera recording 24/7 on my NVR and remote playback works fine if I go via a browser.
If I try to playback previous footage from my mobile phone though the app seems to think there isn't any footage recorded for most hours and so rarely works. I've attached a photo below, showing the rare occassion it allows me to playback some footage for a small period of time. The NVR is successfully recording 24/7 so I don't understand why the app doesnt show this. Any...

Hi all,

I updated the firmware on my NVR to FW 3.4.92 and all my static camera's to FW 5.5.0

All went well and everything is back up and running bar one issue.

Due to location I have 4 camera's attached via a POE network switch. I patched in their IP address into the NVR and they work perfectly fine.

The problem is I have one camera that plugs directly into the NVR. That one no longer works and I have narrowed the problem down to a POE issue. The camera itself is fine as I have tested...
