I have my camera recording 24/7 on my NVR and remote playback works fine if I go via a browser.
If I try to playback previous footage from my mobile phone though the app seems to think there isn't any footage recorded for most hours and so rarely works. I've attached a photo below, showing the rare occassion it allows me to playback some footage for a small period of time.
