Hi all,

I setup my Hikvision system a few years back and now have a mix of UK and CH cameras with a UK NVR. After having lots of issues over time of running old firmware I thought I'd go through the upgrade process and get everything working correctly again.

My first step was to upgrade the NVR (DS-7608NI-E2/8P) but for some reason I'm not able to connect directly to it.

My local IP is 192.168.1.10 with default gateway 192.168.1.7
NVR 192.168.1.12 with default gateway 192.168.1.7

It's a big change to your user interface, so you might want to set some time aside (and maybe wait a few days for feedback from the pioneers) before making this update!

Firstly, has your camera got a pushbutton for resetting it?

It's a pretty reliable rule of thumb that if your camera has a memory card slot it will also have a reset pushbutton (often located adjacent to the card slot).

In HikVision's naming nomenclature an 'F' in the product code denotes 'F for Flash' meaning it can accept a memory card.

A few cameras in the previous R6 Family range have it.
All cameras in the current G1 Family / EasyIP 3.0 have card slots and pushbutton reset.

Hi Guys


I have a HikVision NVR that runs with 24tb across 4 drives, I want to backup the previous day's recordings to a NAS so that if there are any issues with the drives I have a backup. I can't seem to find instructions in the manual.


Has anyone had any experience with this?

Hi folks,
I'm 'transitioning' from an elderly AvTech analogue DVR/camera setup that has run without hitch for several years - to an IpCam system.

I just want to try and recreate what AvTech DVR gave me:
Continuous real time capture + motion detector 'events' logging, so I can look at the recorded timeline and see motion events flagged (shown in red) and skip easily and quickly to see what triggered the event.

Hi

My NVR (DS-7608NI-E2/8P) is running V3.0.10build 141126, and I wanted to upgrade the firmware. I've read that I need to upgrade in increments, e.g. 3.1 > 3.2 > 3.3 however I can't find any of these versions on the Hikvision Portals.

Does anyone have copies of these I could use?

One of my cameras (DS-2CD2332 v5.2.0 build 140721) went offline over the weekend, on looking in to the issue I've discovered that I can't connect to the camera.

The camera has a static IP and is on the same subnet as my PC, on going to the camera's IP address the browser shows the usual login screen, but on entering username/password I get an 'Abnormal Network' error.

SADP tool shows the camera and so does IVMS, however IVMS shows the camera as
'The user is locked' when trying to re add...

Anyone know if the length or position of a line has any baring on it's sensitivity?

Finding one of my setups is more reliable in one direction than the other, despite it being set at A<->B.

The area behaving improperly is at the top right of the frame.

Left to right traffic seems OK, but right to left rarely detects.

I am trying to upgrade my Hikvision PTZ Dome camera but it seems to brick my camera! as a result the camera shows unreachable/offline in SADP.

I have tried the following procedures and the outcome is always the same, the only way I can recover the camera is by using the TFTP utility.

1) via NVR updating the camera firmware
2) login to the camera UI and browse to firmware and upgrade
3) Use TFTP with the recent firmware via NVR
4) Using TFTP with recent firmware direct over POE adapter
5)...

I'm making this plea again, because every day we continue to get calls and enquiries about "odd" issues, features "not working", cameras "gone faulty", cameras that have "gone offline", no longer being able to see video in my App, on my Mac, in IVMS-4200, in my browser, etc.
95% of those callers own HikVision systems.
50% of those callers are what you might term disbelieving when told they need to update their firmware.
Especially if it's a young female member of my team that gives...

Hi,

Don't know if this is a simple fix, but I am able to connect remotely to my NVR using the Hik-Vision app. However, when I use a web browser to connect to the NVR, I can successfully log into my account, but when I click the IP address it will not load.

Does anyone know how I fix this? ? A firewall issue?

Hi all,

Hoping someone could share some insight on what exactly the capture settings are within the schedule storage options?

I'd like my cameras to essentially 'record' full time, but only save to NVR/ftp snapshots, 5s before and after event but it doesn't seem to be working how I have it.

I'm currently using an cloud based app called Cammy which has intelligent motion detection, and moving to camcloud which is motion only I need to setup the cameras better to reduce the amount of fake...

Hi,

Am a newbie here, having some trouble with playback from my nvr, I've listed the details below. My problem is I can playback the videos off both my cameras up until sunrise then I just keep getting an message saying 'connection unstable'

DS-7608NI-K2-8P

2 cameras DS-2CD2T55FWD-I5

Everything else seems to be up and running fine, I can access the nvr from 4g etc via the router and IP address, and both cameras on home network or off it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
